What is EMERGE RehabTech?

EMERGE RehabTech is a Place Based Impact Accelerator Account (PBIAA) funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), and led by Nottingham Trent University, working with the University of Derby, Loughborough University, and the University of Nottingham, and supported by a diverse consortium of 30+ partners with extensive regional and industry expertise.

Our Mission

EMERGE RehabTech will drive regional economic growth and deliver impact by improving health outcomes, promoting wellbeing, and enhancing quality of life for individuals and communities. We will fund innovative projects to accelerate impact in rehabilitation technologies, create engagement opportunities to connect businesses with researchers, and embed Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) in our initiatives to tackle health inequalities.

What will EMERGE do?

EMERGE RehabTech will utilise and distribute EPSRC PBIAA funding to convene a community of researchers, innovators, clinicians, and other pivotal actors with a stake in improving rehabilitation outcomes. This community will capitalise on regional strengths to develop the underlying technologies and tap into the regional capacity to bring innovations from bench to bedside and commercial markets.
