Ishara’s research focusses on super-smart textiles and wearable electronics for remote health monitoring, telerehabilitation and sports. Prior to academia, Ishara worked in textiles and nanotechnology industries. He leads Loughborough University’s SuS-Tex research cluster for next-generation wearable technologies. Ishara has showcased his work in outreach events like Royal Society Summer Science, RAEng Innovation late, and via media channels including BBC.
EMERGE activity
Ishara is supporting EMERGE to create an ECR network in rehabilitation and to deliver an ECR forum.
